As part of the upgrade to our Shared Hosting platform, we will discontinue support for outdated PHP in all our shared hosting environments.
PHP discontinuation - Extended/New timeline:
10th March 2021 : All older PHP versions like 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2
The new PHP default version will be PHP 7.3
What have we done at our end?
As announced earlier, we tried upgrading the PHP version to the latest version (7.3, 7.4) and found some websites to be not compatible with the new versions of PHP. In all our previous announcements, we had mentioned that we would attempt to forcefully upgrade the PHP version of such websites to PHP 7.3/7.4 after 31st October 2020. However, we have extended this timeline by a few months and we will go ahead with the change post 10th March 2021.
What do we recommend?
As the upgrade is a major version change, we strongly advise all our clients to ensure all custom-written applications running on our servers are fully compatible with PHP 7.3 and above.
Kindly check with your in-house webmaster/outsource webmaster/programmer regarding this matter.
Technical Support and Additional information
