Dear Customer,

We're reaching out to inform you about an important update to the SSL certificate email verification process, designed to enhance security and ensure compliance with current privacy standards.

Effective February 15, 2025, the use of WHOIS email addresses for domain control validation (DCV) will no longer be supported. Currently, during the purchase, renewal, or reissuance of a digital certificate, domain ownership is verified through an email sent to a designated address. While you currently have the option to use a WHOIS email address, this option ("Other") will be removed.

Going forward, only the following standard email addresses will be available for verification:

    admin@
    hostmaster@
    webmaster@
    postmaster@
    administrator@

If your customers already use one of these standard addresses for SSL certificate verification, no action is required. They can continue using the same address for future renewals and reissues.

However, if any of your customers currently rely on a WHOIS-based email address, we recommend assisting them in creating one of the standard addresses listed above before their next certificate renewal or reissuance. This will help ensure a seamless verification process and minimize disruptions.

Key Date:

Change Effective: February 15, 2025

If you have any questions or need support in communicating this change to your customers, please don't hesitate to contact us.

We appreciate your partnership and commitment to ensuring a smooth experience for your customers.

Regards,

Team ABACO Hosting
